From the desk of Mr. Monk

Whilst compiling my work for uni, I came across QR Codes. These are great; you can encode url’s, text, phone numbers etc. into them. They have to be “scanned” to get the data, however you can also use a mobile phone with an application. I’m using NeoReader and it works great! I take a photo of a QR code on my iPhone and it takes me straight to the encoded data, ie to the url.
How clever is that!
As I’m designing a lot of websites, they are going to be a great way to display my work. Instead of trying to show a website through print, I will showcase the QR code only and then it is up to the user to decode it using a an actual digital display.
It also just looks damn cool.
I will definitely be looking into how to effectively use these as a graphic design student. Zoom

From the desk of Mr. Monk I'm a twenty-something creative type. This is my online journal in which I collect and share links, images, thoughts and sometimes reflect on current work.
