From the desk of Mr. Monk

This week I have no uni work, so I’ll be starting a new business instead. Its going to be called ‘Font Lorry’.

What will Font Lorry do? Essentially we’re the new font foundry kids on the block. We don’t want to be the biggest… yet ;-P We just want to house some really great talent.

At BIAD there isnt much web knowledge and if there is, it tends to be on a 3rd party service basis. This isnt bad, but we’re going to be one of the 3rd party services. Students are the emerging professionals and theres some amazing work out there. If Font Lorry could get hold of this unseen work and act as a distribution channel then that can only be a good thing, right? We plan to house all typographical works including typefaces, posters and essays. This will then be available to a global audience aided by the industry links that Smile has forged over the past year. We are certain that we will be able to offer a successful platform based on a successful business model.
