Twitter Love

I know that my friends must be sick of me going on about how great twitter is and I dont think I can blame them, but it is brilliant. Its so understanted as a tool and I admit that I didnt get it before and now I realise how powerful it is, I cant get enough.

Why do I love it?
Twitter fits in to lifestyles. No matter who you are you can tweet in seconds. Better still is you have a choice, talk crap or talk smart. 140 characters is enough to make you think hard about what you write, but you don’t deliberate for hours; a handy compromise. Copyrighting skills come in to play, you have to capture people in words. You are publishing teasers/ads/headlines.

I pushed it into Inter-Acts work because Gavin (the director) is a busy guy. He doesnt always have internet access but his company develops in strange, unusual ways and places. He needed a way to update his news page without having to think twice and remain impulsive. Twitter does this. When something happens, he sends a text and his website is updated. Best of all, its free. Cashback.

Twitter humanises corporate faces. Twitter means that companies appear like other human beings on the twit-o-sphere (that could catch on right?) which means theyre more approachable, hence more work, hence more profit.

I love free stuff, I love it more when it adapts to me and twitter does just that. Before anyone says that Im not in control of the service etc. When it goes down I will move on. But twitter is in its early phase and is the fastest growing social network (I read it somewhere and I dont agree that it is a social network but who am I to argue with the powers that be?) so its longevity should be stable for the few years.

Twitter is only limited by your imagination. In my next meeting I will propose the idea of twitter to them. Why? They deal in a lot of events, and I feel that twitter could hugely benefit them here. they could create buzz around the already fantastic events and get a following (literally) of people interested in details that would be otherwise missed but may very well be important to someone out there. A missed opportunity is missed potential.

Like I say with a lot of my thoughts, Im sure I haven’t got everything here and Ill try and get something up with my love of twitter, but for now Im done.
