Why I wish I hadn’t downloaded Safari 4
I downloaded the BETA when it first came out and downgraded almost instantly. I wish I had recalled that yesterday.
Why?
Well in BETA, Safari didn’t get on with Growl. That is still my problem. It doesn’t crash but something triggers what I call the ‘fat font’ bug. Safari 4 renders Helvetica Bold; bolder. This is terrible. Legibility drops 10x. This used to happen in 3 but there was a workaround, this no longer exists.
To make it worse I needed to do some screen shot work for uni. Luckily my Dad is a slow updater and had Safari 3.
As far as I am concerned, Safari 4 should still be in BETA.
