13 year old slates Vogue Paris for using Curlz. →
This is the most inspiring thing I have read all week. How clever is this kid!
I still simply cannot believe Vogue allowed this tragedy. There’s been some bad type choices this week but this my friends, 100% tops it.

Baseline - a typographic framework →
Of all the web design frameworks out there, this one interests me most. I really want to implement this. Of course, they all have the same drawback: IE.

What is IKEA thinking!? They’ve dropped Futura and chosen Verdana as its replacement. This truly is a sad day for typographers everywhere.

Vacation responders
Even holidays create work! In the month or so that I’ve been working at SMILE I’ve come across a few of these already. Generally they are really robotic but with a dandy bit of copywriting I reckon they could be a good piece of promotion. Your automated vacation response is an advertisement for your business.
I have a short break planned very soon and I intend to use my...

Mark Me →
Sue and I came up with the concept just 36 hours ago, and now we have a working site.
Mark Me is a group submission blog where users answer regularly set mark making challenges. Sue and myself had let our love of drawing go by the way-side, but wanted to get back into it. This is why we created Mark Me.
Here is a little blurb from the site:
Mark making is like anything else; much more fun when...

Time Lapse Still Photography
It was only this week that Matt and I were talking about doing some sort of truly badass time-lapse film of the view from the SMILE studio…
… and then I tumbl’d across this:
Amezzin! What a wonderfully simple idea but executed so perfectly! I didn’t think it could get any better than that. I was wrong because when I visited the photographers website there was a link to...

Mark Me draft
I literally stayed up till 4 last night coding the first draft of Mark Me - a community submission blog about mark making.
It’s been built on Tumblr because it handles this type of blog so well. It uses disqus for comments jQuery for ratings and Tumblr takes care of the submission process which is pretty snazzy.
I’d like to get this public by the end of the day but I will...

Mark Making online
I was speaking with Sue this morning and we both said how much we wanted to draw again. So that’s that; we’re going to start drawing again. We’ll set little challenges and compare pieces. We’re even going to set up a little group blog and hopefully get a nice little group of designers with the same aim of re-kindling their love of mark making.
